We are excited to share the news that Daniel Chesley has joined Work-Bench’s investing team as an Associate!

In our search for a new team member, we knew the key was to find someone who shared our passion for enterprise tech and possessed the intellectual curiosity to develop future-state investment themes, identify the next wave of enterprise founders, and support our portfolio companies with a new lens. As our team got to know Daniel over the past few months, it became clear he was all of these things and more.

Daniel comes to us from the throws of operator life at NYC-based unicorn Hyperscience. He first joined Hyperscience as a Strategy Lead and was responsible for global go-to-market strategy, pricing and monetization, and special projects. Following this, he was promoted to Product Manager, where he was responsible for commercializing pre-trained machine learning models, synthetic data generation, and use case expansion. Daniel’s hustle continues in his free time as the author of Startupon, a weekly newsletter dedicated to helping people find startup and technology jobs.

Daniel could not be joining Work-Bench at a better time. NYC is thriving and we continue investing out of our $125M Fund III. He is going to focus on our core investment themes including Machine Learning and AI, Developer Tools, and Future of Work, and is already hard at work developing new investment themes and meeting entrepreneurs.

We are incredibly fortunate to have Daniel on our team and can’t wait to see the impact he will have on the enterprise software ecosystem. Fun fact, despite our best efforts to crack him,Daniel has never had a sip of coffee and for fun he loves throwing on a wetsuit and surfing New York’s cold waves, as well as playing Settlers of Catan (a Work-Bench favorite!).

Feel free to drop him a note via email or Twitter if you’d like to welcome him, riff on investment themes, or talk Product or GTM strategy.
